Reasons for development of Industries in Bhutan
i. To increase the people’s level of income, which then increases their ability to purchase goods and services, leading to economic growth
ii. To encourage entrepreneurship among as many people as possible.

Industries are not equally distributed in Bhutan. This uneven distribution of industries in Bhutan could be due to the following reasons.
  1. The motor road is not well developed in the country
  2. Inaccessible to raw materials needed by the respective industries
  3. Lack of entrepreneurship skill

Largest Industries in Bhutan

Factors determine location of BCCL at Pasakha.
  1. Easily accessible to India by motor road for obtaining raw materials and marketing the products.

Arrival of tourist decline in the year 2001 and 2002 as a result of:
  1. Terrorism attacks  in USA instill fear in people to travel across the world

  3. The reason for low arrival of tourist in 2003 is as a result of flush out of ULFA, Bodo and KLO from our country.
